Forsaken
Why have you forsaken me?
Not just once, but twice to bleed.
Sickening, this endless need.
What is that you took from me,
That I can't have again?
When will this madness end?
Are you better off- a piece of me,
You're chewing in your mouth?
Savor 'til the flavor leaves,
And then you spit me out.
I hate you, I love you.
I hate you some more.
Now you are a vagrant,
But I am not a whore.
Left me with no love,
And no regard.
Not even a goodbye.
But this time is different,
This time I did not cry.
When first you left,
I grew new skin.
Thicker than before.
And now that you are gone again,
I'm stronger than you know.
I can stand the test of time,
I can be alone.
Just because the fire's gone,
It doesn't leave me cold.
This old heart will love again,
She is all I've got.
To hang on to,
Like lovers do.
"Til it's you I have forgot.
