Junkie

I am happy to say,
That you cannot have me today.
No, you just can't have me today.

Today I won't fall in your arms,
I am resisting your charm.

Won't raise the poison to my lips,
Nor breathe in sweet temptation.
I hide the needle from my arms,
Yearning medication.

You've had me down a time or two,
In that bed, I laid with you.

Trouble be where trouble lies,
And nothing lies like trouble.
Seeping through like heavy goo,
Making itself double.

I'm a junkie, but for today,
I will turn away.

And you cannot have me today,
No, you just can't have me today.
