Sanctuary

I'm so sad,
'Cause I was bad,
Living's all I have.

There she was,
Just because,
A feeling that I had.

We came to,
That place we knew,
Where feelings run too deep.

She unfolded,
Unto me,
Naked at my feet.

Slipping in,
A knife through butter,
Deep into her soul.

I fit in,
Bits of sin,
She lost all control.

Crying out,
In agony,
Long into the night.

Her spirit flew,
Like songbirds through,
The hollows of my mind.

I turned away.
Too frightened by,
The dreams that filled my head.

Into a sanctuary.
Where I'll be safe,
From feelings that I dread.
