The Girl I Was Before

I'm the girl I was before
I can see her now
She's laughing at me
'Cause she can see
Just how I turned out

Everything you are today
You will be tomorrow
Moments come to think you've changed
But that time's only borrowed

An alcoholic loves his drink
The wild love their high
The intellects are drawn to think
As the cheater is to lies

You cannot bend the steely force
That pushes through your being
A vertebrae of character
That tells you what you're seeing

I'm the girl I was before
I'm laughing with her now
A time or two that we have spent
To try to change somehow

This one's to all you hard core liars
With something left to prove
Just don't be disappointed
When your young girl makes her move
